Why Satay Systems

What makes our approach worth considering

We work differently from most AI consultancies. Here is an honest account of where those differences lie and why they matter for Singapore businesses.

Core Advantages

Six things that set us apart

Everything in writing

Specifications, progress notes, handover documents, and recommendations are all produced as written materials. You leave each engagement with something to refer back to — not just a conversation.

Fixed scope, fixed price

Each service has a defined scope and published price. We do not expand the engagement without a separate conversation and agreement. There are no ambiguous retainer arrangements.

Designed for independence

We build with the explicit goal of leaving your team able to operate and adjust the workflow without calling us back. Ongoing dependence is not part of our business model.

Candid when the answer is no

Our assessment service includes the possibility of recommending that AI is not yet the right focus. That is a legitimate outcome, and we say so clearly rather than finding a way to proceed regardless.

Singapore-based and sector-aware

We work with Singapore businesses and are familiar with the regulatory considerations across the sectors we serve — including PDPA obligations, MAS-adjacent environments, and healthcare administration requirements.

Paced to suit operational teams

We work around your operational rhythm, not around a billing schedule. Session timing in our multi-month programme is set with your team's availability as the primary constraint.

In Depth

A closer look at what matters

Expertise in business process, not just AI technology

Most AI integration work fails not because the technology is wrong but because the process was not properly understood before the build began. Our consultants come from backgrounds in operations and process design — we look at how work actually flows before we think about where AI might sit in that flow.

  • Process review before any technology recommendation
  • Interviews with both operational staff and managers
  • Familiarity with Singapore's major sectors

Current, practical knowledge of AI tools

We work with the tools that are available now — large language models, structured extraction pipelines, retrieval-augmented systems — and we have a clear view of what each is and is not suited to. We do not propose solutions in areas where the technology is not yet reliable enough for business use.

  • Hands-on experience with production AI workflows
  • Vendor-agnostic approach — we use what fits the problem
  • Clear-eyed about current limitations

Transparent pricing for defined outcomes

Our three services are priced at SGD 215, SGD 445, and SGD 870 respectively. These are fixed-scope engagements. You know what you are getting and what it costs before you agree to proceed. There are no variable billing arrangements and no surprises in the final invoice.

  • Published prices, no hidden fees
  • Scope agreed in writing before work begins
  • Invoice matches the agreed price

Distinctive Features

What you will not find elsewhere

The option to conclude nothing is needed

Our assessment is designed to produce a useful answer either way. If the honest finding is that no AI use case is worth pursuing in the function we examined, we say so and explain why. That finding is worth the cost of the assessment.

Written specifications reviewed before any build begins

We do not begin building until you have read, queried, and agreed the specification. This step is not optional and is not skipped to save time. It is the primary protection against scope misunderstandings.

A trial period that reflects real conditions

The four-week trial in our build service uses the actual workflow with the actual users who will operate it daily. Feedback from that period shapes the handover documentation and any adjustments made before we close the engagement.

Documentation written for the people who will use it

Our handover documents are written for the staff who will operate the workflow, not for a technical audience. If the person who will be using the workflow daily cannot understand the documentation, we rewrite it until they can.
